Post by fishthoughts »

Need info on these... Feeding, environment, ease of breeding, etc... I can get some and there is no info on the cat-elog about them... could change my mind on getting them or not.

Thanks!

A very pretty Panaque species, related to Royal Plecos, that gets trailers on it's caudal fin. The Datz has them listed as reaching 40cm which is about 16 inches. They do get some size to them. Make sure you have driftwood in the tank for them to munch on. Also include the usual pellet foods, veggies, etc. Since they reach such a large size, I would have to say that this species has yet to be spawned in captivity.

Are these the same fish with two different common names? Is there more than one species or sub sp. of this fish. A very nice fish.
