Cory with swollen belly

Post by kissinuk »

Hi, just over 1 Week ago I introduced 2 Albino Corys into my tank. Now one of them has a swollen stomach and I'm not sure what is wrog (possibly constipation??). I have been feeding them on small catfish pellets, maybe 10 or so a day. Enclosed is a picture, apart from the belly he (she?) seems perfectly well.

Ammonia: 0
Nitrite: 0 (although I did have a very small spike after adding the corys)
Nitrate: 10mg/l
PH: 7.7
120l tank with 3 platies, 4 neons and 2 cories

Many thanks,

Paul.

maybe its a female. it could be constipation. try a change in diet and a water change should work.

Catfish pellets are OK but I think its a case of simply to many and its not a good idea to just feed one type of food, a variety of different foods would give the fish a far better diet.
