Does they require cooler water changes to kick start spawning? I have tried it but so far no luck.

Try conditioning the fish first with bloodworms and algae wafers,This may help

Thanks for your replies.Ian yours was particularly interesting. My biggest problem is getting them to feed properly. They are wild caught & although the person I got them from was feeding them on pellets, they were reluctant to eat mine. They are eating some now & also whiteworms.I put a couple of my young bronze cories in with them as they were very timid & hardly moved. They are now becoming more active & confident. The next problem might be having bronze cories in with them,I was trying to keep them on their own.
My water temp.could also be too high at 75o.
