just wondering how many and which species are bred for the aquarium trade. in ponds? any tank raised?

when or will smaller Plecos like the L46 Zebra and other attractive ones ever be commercially viable? i'm sure many have tried/are trying. any predictions?

I know that zebras are currently being bred by several hobbyists. I believe that is not economically viable for fish farms to breed these fish. I think several of the smaller fish will hopefully be captivily bred soon. :D

I know of 3 or 4 types of Hypancistrus that are regularly being spawned in aquaria, as are a larger portion of the Ancistrus you see available commercially. Hopefully at some point more of these fish will be available as tank raised, rather than wild collected, but the supply has a long way to go to meet the demand.
