Accidental Brine Shrimp Hatch

Something funny happened to my 20G tank. I had clown loaches in it that was suffering from ICH. So I did the salt + heat treatment. I think the ich is fading away now.

I fed the clown loaches frozen brine shrimp 1-2 days ago, I alternate w/ bloodworms. I looked at my tank this morning and now I see baby brine shrimp swimming around in the thank  .

How funny, but I guess I should have expected as much from using the salt treatment (1-2 tsp. per gallon) and feeding sick fish brine shrimp in a heated tank.

If only I had some baby fish to feed the brine shrimp too, oh well... hopefully by my next ich infestation. LOL

If you were feeding frozen brine shrimp, I do not think any eggs would have survived that process and still be able to hatch.

Of course, I have been wrong before.....

Sure they will survive freezing... I keep my cysts in the freezer to prolong their hatch rate. Plus the lake they come from does freeze.. at least in shallow areas.
