L-46 babies

I just found some babies in the spawning cave and moved the cave and the babies minus the father into a floating basket with a jerry-rigged air lift system for fresh water. The babies are fully developed but with a slight stomach bulge. They are all huddled in the cave and I was wondering if I should move them out of the cave, and when should I start feeding them baby brine? Any expert help would be appreciated.

That wasn't too hard was it? What were your water conditions? Anything special you did to get them to breed? I found them pretty easy to breed myself. Now if my heaters hadn't cooked the parents I could still see them spawning. Now I've gotta raise the fry and try again.

I didn't do anything special. Left them alone. tank decorations are bare bottom with drift wood and tons of slate and rocks for hiding and two home made spawing caves made from tiles per specs given on the board. pH is around 6.8 to 7.0, temp 83 to 85 F. weekly 30% water changes. No rainy season nor dry season, no power heads, just two power filters(aquaclear) and airstones and sponge filters. All in a 20 long.

nice to hear that substrate doesn't seem to be necessary to get a spawn..

Nice One Kenneth.

Just keep an eye on the yolk sack, you'll soon see when their hungary. if you can get it, tera or Discus Prima is a good starter food. it sinks to the bottom ad they can feed easily as it dissolves!
