Question:
I am thinking about buying L262 - $1000 for the pair.
I am wondering what the price difference between L262 and pepperments are around the place?

Hi!

should be bred on the same basis than other Hypancistrus... just check for exemple what is being said for or

Other than this 5-6 cm is the minimum size for this fish to be mature!!
600 Aussie dollars= ?? how many Euros or US $??

Cheers

As they say in Real estate...Location, Location, Location. Australians pay a fortune for fish. I think $40.00 for a fish is crazy. Most expensive loricariid I ever saw in Colombia was $7.00 retail. I have been in the States and Canada checking out fish retailers for the last week and can not believe the prices! That said, in South America I did not have access to 1% of the filters, lights, foods, tanks, etc that you can get in North America.

yes we do have to pay alot of money for our plecs and any other fish thats smuggled in the country, but hopefully there will be a lot of people breeding some species to bring the price down?

Yan,

Here in Australia, except for the loricariads that we have been breeding here prior to 1982, most of the "L" number fish cost AU$300 or more. Just last week L262 were $600 in Brisbane. So if they are a definate pair for $1,000 is a good buy. But at that size, less than half grown, I doubt that any one could sex them 100%. Your call Wall !!

At that size I would not consider buying less than 5 fish. The odds are against a pair.

I sold some 262s for the equivalent of US$ 14.30 each. The Philippine peso right now is PHP 56.00 to US$ 1.00. We even find that amount to a bit expensive what more some something that costs over 1,000 be it Australian or US dollars! I have one 262 left though and I am glad that no one else wanted to buy it. Oh well maybe later on....
