Hello all
In my 200 litre small species tank I have various Barbs, some Danios, Serpae Tetras etc
I also keep all my corys in this tank. I have 3 albinos, three Peppered and three bronze.
Well, I was working at my computer one day when I noticed that my bigger peppered was looking very fat and that one of the other peppered corys was following it around in a sort of "mounting" motion... ! I watched for a while when the big one laid eggs on the front glass.... Before i could do anything about it the barbs gobbled them up... the only ones I could save were half a dozen that she had laid behind the bubble wall..... Well I scrapped the up and stuck them in a plastic bottle. after a couple of days I checked the eggs but nothing was happening...I looked again a few days later.. but nothing. I was just about to flush the contents when one of my kids fell over. I put the bottle down behind the tank and legged it outside to see if he was ok.. anyway.. one week later I am having a tidy up oin my computer room/fish house when I find the bottle with two tiny baby corys in it...
Fortunatly I had a 20 litre tank set up as a nursery/hospital unit where they now reside until they are big enough to go back to the main tank.

cool eh?

Subedei,
All part of the fun of having fish. I once took a bunch of Java moss out of a tank of wild Corydoras venezuelanus and diamond tetras that I had collected about two weeks before in the Rio Guapo and put the Java moss in with some wild killies. A week later I removed the adult killies and waited to see if they had done anything (this was my first attempt with any killie). Sure enough I had bunches of fry. Imagine my surprise a week later when I realized the fry were cory fry, diamond tetra fry, and killie fry all in the spawning tank! It did not even occur to me that the corys and diamond tetras would be spawning two weeks after they were collected.
