Bristlenose Babies - What to feed first?

My albino bristlenose laid eggs on Sunday and I just noticed that they have hatched and some of the babies are hanging on the glass and driftwood. I read somewhere on the net that they will not grow quickly without protein in their diet?? What is the best first food for these once their yolk sack is consumed? Microworms? Live baby brine shrimp? Zucchini? Any help would be greatly appreciated. Thanks in advance!

I feed mine zuchini, algae wafers, a bit of flake food, and occasionally a small frozen shrimp. They seem to really clean up different things at different stages, but the most important thing to deal with will be water quality, IME. The ones hanging on the glass still have a large yolk sac I'm assuming, and they won't need fed until that is absorbed. You'll be amazed to see how much they'll grow in that time, too ;)

Thanks for the information Barbie. And yes, they still have a large yolk sac, so they probably have a few days to go before they are ready to eat 'real' food. Thanks again!

Barbie,

You were right about how fast they will grow while consuming their yolk sacs. They went from basically an egg with a sliver for a tail to tiny miniatures of their parents with fully developed fins in just 3 days! A few of them are out and about and their yolk sacs are just about depleted. I will patiently wait to feed them and pay attention to the water quality. Thanks again.
