Vegetable duration

How long can I keep pieces of zucchini in the tank before it becomes unappetizable to the fish? I have two clown plecs who haven't touched the piece of zuchinni I tossed in yesterday as we had guests over and the room lights were on well into the night. I think I will leave the zuchini in there for another day, will that be ok?
