Syno-safe treatments

Post by splottnik »

Hi, sorry if I missed this in a faq or previous post...

Are syno. angelicus particularly sensitive to commonly avaialble tank treatments? I don't think I have any problems at the moment but, looking ahead, if as sometime in the future I need to treat the c*****ds in my tank for either flukes or bloat ,I want to be sure that the sterazin or octozin (or any other equivalent available in the UK) won't hurt the syno.

Hopefully I'll never need to do this but I won't want to be worrying about the catfish if I do!

thanks loads in advance,
splottnik!

All scaleless catfish are sensitive to medications. I just treated some Syno's with ich using Macachite Green at half strength. Two fish recovered and two died.

The best treatment is nitrate free clean water. If they have that they are extreamly durable.
