Hemidoras paraguayensis a Corydoras mimic?

I saw some at a LFS yesterday and was struck by the way they were mingling with Corydoras in the tank (and in so doing, being more active than most doradids are in daylight). It looked a lot like the mimic behaviour of Brachyrhamdia.

Has anybody noticed this before? I am thinking of getting some, and choosing a cory which resembles them as much as possible to test this out.

Hi:
I saw the behaviour that you mentioned specially when they were feeding. The sure thing is that h. paraguayensis have more day activitie than other doradids with or without another specie in the tank.

Actually this is common in a lot daytime active Doradidae. My Hassar, Opsodoras and Hemidoras all shoal with Corydoras even when they are several times larger.

I also keep Hemidoras paraguayensis and Hasser wilderi with Corydoras. They are both active during daylight, especially the Hasser. They get along quite well and are often shoaling together.

I'm envious. I live in the USA and have looked for Hemidoras for years off and on with no success. Has anyone in the USA seen these in the last year or so?
