It looks like liposarcus pardalis to me. I could be wrong though.

Thanks!

Hi Gail,
I think Hoov's a Liposarcus, but pardalis or multiradiatus someone else can define that.

I have read your story about rescuing Hoov and know exactly how wonderful personality he can have. I have a 10+ years old Liposarcus multiradiatus, who is absolutely adorable. You can check his pictures at my website (which is not in English, though).

Thanks for that... I'm taking notes on identification ideas and researching them!
I appreciate your reply. I'm off to check out your website. Someone told me that catfish really seem to develop more of a "personaity" after 5-10 years... makes sense... more years of learning means more complex responses, maybe. Thanks again! :)

Thanks, T! Gonna go buy him some furniture, plants and delectibles tomorrow; after all the abuse he's survived, he deserves to be treated like a little American giggolo! Couldn't have done it without the forum...

Thanks, Zack.

Thanks... I recall your telling me (I think it was in Speak Easy) that I could soon consider adding some more fish... I'm just about ready for suggestions... I'm thinking of more catfish... smaller, different types??? :)

Well i forget quite how big you said your tank was, 29 gallons?? some corys would be nice, i think youd like them. There is lots of different kinds so i wont list any in particular they are all pretty much the same as far as food, size, and care. They will eat flakes, pellets, vegi tablets. They grow from 2-3 inches. And like to school. Some upside down synodontis (synodontis nigriventris?) would also go good be careful you dont get the upside down mystus or asian upside down (not sure on the scientific name) because they will also outgrow your tank and are mildly aggressive. If i was you id get about four corys and three upside downs. And maybe a school of tetras and youd have a perfect community settup. Some fish not to buy that lots of people get as jueviniles and soon realize their mistake is Bala sharks, oscars, pangasius catfish, clown loaches, chinese algae eaters, kissing guaramis. The only reason to avoid these fish is that they all get over ten inches and will outgrow your tank. Good luck with your new settup.

Thanks, Z

Thanks. I'll save that advice... I will probably start shopping in earnest in a couple of weeks (after the tank really settles in). Goin' shoppin' today for "furniture!
