Pseudohemiodon apithanos

Hi!

In the July issue of Datz, a very short summary form D & B Hoffmann about the a succesful spawn of

Tank: 160liter
Water : ph 7
Water t°: 26°c
Every day 40liters water change

spawn occur on March 21st and the eggs hatch on April 4th, 21 fry result of that spawn
They have a vey small yolk sac and are 10-11mm long. They are taking alsmot right away...
They wer fed with insect larva such Cyclop, Brine shrimps...

So far 3 succesful spawn have been raise...

Let's hope we'll hear some more form others...

Do they have any more info on the spawning?? Did they have a cave, out in the open, what had he been feed?? Were they on a bare bottom tank or sand??

Any mroe info that you can give would be great.

I just got an idea for a suitable popular name for that species: "BADGER-PLECO" :D ... their faces look kind of like the faces of badgers, at least the badgers we have here in sweden!

Anyway, nice looking cats... What i've heard they are rather expensive too.
