Hi Ozyboy,
I use a 20H for peppered (paleatus) cories. I use huge colonies for most of my cory colonies. I've had up to 20 fish in that colony. For peppered cories...I like to use a 2M for every 1F ratio, due to the large number of eggs laid. I use a bare bottom tank...with just a filter in there. Drop the temp from 72 down to 62, as a spawning trigger. I use straight tap (straight cold water) with no conditioners, as all my fish are used to chlorine! After the 1st spawn, I go back to weekly water changes. With my larger colonies...I've had spawns 23 days in a row. Obviously it was different females participating each day. They will lay most of the eggs on the glass. I recommend moving the parents to another tank...due to the large number of eggs.
Tank size depends on the number of fish. I'd recommend a 5 for a trio/10 for 6-8 fish/ and a 20 for 15-20 fish. Peppereds prefer to spawn in cooler water. They don't need a heater, and would prefer a cooler location (bottom of the rack/basement).
Live black worms, blood worms, or chopped up red worms are probably the best conditioning foods. Most females get quite robust when they are ready :)
Best of luck!
Rich
