I would say the initial injury or infection in the eye has left it scarred. As long as the fish can still feed, and doesn't do more injury to itself, it shouldn't be a problem, as long as proper water parameters are maintained. We've had a few members with blind fish that did just fine in their aquarium.

Hi Squid, I got a friend whose pleco suffered from bacteria disease, symptom was skin ulcer. He carried out antibiotic treatment on pleco for 14 days. Now the ulcer apart appears not in red colour, and he is maintaining a good environment for his pleco to recover.

I think you should extend the antibotic treatment using Tetracycline for 7 days. During the treatment, also try your best to maintain the water quality well. For example, change 30% of water every 3 days, don't feed too much of food. In addition, maintain water temperature at 27 degree celsius and well aerate the water. After this 7-day treatment, if the symptom is relieved, move it back to the main tank to let it recover.

Lastly, good water quality is the key for keeping aquarium fishes.

Hope it recover soon!!!!

squid, sadly I too have a 6.5 inch L200 that recently lost its left eye due to cloudy eyes.. tried to medicate it but after a week plus the whole eye was not cloudy any longer but sadly its left eye was no longer in the eye socket... *sigh* but it is still as active, eating well and seems more aggresive than when it had both eyes..
