Bristlenose set-up

Post by pawsplus »

Hi, all -- I have a 55 w/ 3 GF and 2 dojos, and am thinking of setting up a tank for bristlenose catfish. They are adorable!

Am I correct that they only get to 5" or so? And if this is true, would 1 or 2 be better? Would they be happier w/ company or without?

I have a 10 g I can set up, but am not sure that would be enough room. Would it? And if not, what about a 20 long?

Thanks very much --

Hi Elizabeth,
I think a 10 gallon is too small for much of anything unless you're doing alot of water changes. Regardless of what you decide, you'll want to put some driftwood in the tank for them to munch on(it aids their digestion) and hide under...
