Otos identification please?

Post by RiC »

Hi all,
I am having trouble identifying my otos, although I've looked through the cat e-log.

Here is one; I am thinking of otocinclus sp.(1) or maybe vittatus?

And these ones; I was thinking of oto macrospilus, but I have read somewhere that their black caudal stain is double, whereas they have one single spot; could they be hoppei? But they have no red reflections on them:

Thanks for your help :D

I'd shoot for on account of the caudal area colouration.

I think the second one looks more like . Any chance of getting a clearer picture of the first one? You really need a sharp picture that can show some details of the bony plates on the body to even be able to narrow down the possibilities.
