What's up with the forum (and the rest of PC?)
lately I run into a few 'bugs', so to speak.
the first one is that despite new posts, quite often, all the little buttons in front of the posts/divisions stay white.
When I check the latest dates, I see, there's new posting, but aren't those buttons supposed to turn red?
It's an off- and on-thing these days.
And the speed......the last few weeks PC gets sloooow, vvvvveeeeerrrrryyy sssssllloooooowww
like sucking marmite through a drinking straw.
I have DSL, about 1-2meg/s, but no avail.
Other forums and sites (even bigger ones) stay fast....
btw it's not my PC, when logging in from work, or at someone else's place, the same problems occur.
different browsers too; at work WindowsInternetExploder 7 on WXP, at home Firefox on W2K etc

Sid, it looks like there is a bad router somewhere in the Netherlands that is giving you a lot of latency. It is taking 200 milliseconds to send a packet from PCat to you, which is the source of the slow down (for comparison, the same trip takes 30 milliseconds for me). Not much you/I can do about it

I delete all cookies time and again, to avoid spyware, trojans and clogging up the PC.
of course, saved passwords are in another directory.
Too bad about the server!
PC is the only site that seems to run along that one, because other, even bigger sites and forums don't seem to slow down at all.

Ain't nothing wrong with the server, it's a router somewhere (probably Euroside) that's causing the problem, I'm getting about the same results as Rusty. Try accessing other sites you know are hosted in the US or California and you'll probably get the same results.
