Otocinclus: Bloody mouth

Hi All,

Had an oto who had a reddish mouth, thought it was a strange and rare occurance, took him out for some medication. Some time later, about a month or so, (today) I saw another fella with the same condition.

I'm stumped.

Can someone advise if it could be the wood? Kinda have a "new" wood in the tank (already removed). Wondering if that could be the cause. Alternatively, what should I be looking at?

Thanks!

Got a picture?
Catfish with exposed teeth sometimes have reddish mouths, especially in the toothplates. This is normal.

What I meant by exposed teeth are the toothplates that are exposed visible in most loricariids. Since the reddish areas around the mouth of your fish is not anywhere near the toothplates, it looks more like the result of blunt trauma.
