I spot 4 fairly big Angels in the left end.

thank's, hopefully when my co2 is kicking in and i put in my new t5 light on the left side ill get some more plants on both sides and the tank will be even nicer, the plan in the future is to "make" my friends want to get an fishtank themselfes.WALL wrote:Very nice!!!!!

You'd better watch your altums.....They can get fairly big, and it wouldn't be the first time I saw them returning to wild behaviour: eating all those tiny characins! how big are those?

In my opinion, CO2 injection is only necessary in heavily planted tanks. While I agree that more plants would be needed to justify the expense of a CO2 setup, I disagree that it would be too expensive for a tank that size. Refilling the cylinder is the inexpensive portion of the expense, at least here. Mine lasts 6 months or so on the 75 gallon tank, 8 or 9 on the 40. You could probably safely guessimate that yours would laslt 3 months, IF you got the smaller cylinder. The next size up would double the length of time, without adding much more expense when it comes to refilling time. All of which will be influenced by your water's hardness and original pH.
I used DIY CO2 on my planted tanks for years, and while it did work, I never had truly overgrown plants. I have never had a single regret that I spent the money on my system. It made a tremendous difference.

I never used CO2 in ANY tank I ever had, and right now, I have to push the plants to one side or the Tropheus (!) can't swim properly....time to prune again!
In the riverine tank, my Echinodorus got the idea and tries to look like a Yucca; and there's a big battle between a Tigerlily and a ton of Riccia. As a result, the Cory's are quite invisible. They LIKE it, but still
I'm going to buy a machete if I ever get into CO2; my solution to the problem of adding CO2 is just adding enough fish! they all excrete CO2......

I don't know if my input is appreciated or not but I love this tank. It kind of has everythig I like about the hobby. From the altums and plecos to the banjos. It also has a biotypical feel abot it. If it was my tank I would just allow the existing plants to fill up some of the space. Still I love it!

input and ideas was one of the plans when i posted my tank,and its in my plans to get more plants during the summer, but im going to move my zebras to an breeding tank before i do anything else with it.

on the right side its 8 or 9 pieces and on the left side its 2 pieces.
