I purchased this pl*c about 2 months ago. It ame out of a shipment of common pl*cs, but is far from Liposarcus pardalis. I thought it might be a true Hypostomus plecostomus, but it was hard to get good pictures then. Here are some various shots. I am trying to get a good mouth shot, but it doesn't like my glass. It is urrently about 3" total length and the light brown/tan does not get much darker than shown.
Here is a full body shot.

Side shot fully extended.

Inverted dorsal shot for a good count, I see 7.

This is a Hypostomus for sure and could be H.plecostomus, there are a few that looks very similar to each other. Yours are only 3" (7-8 cm) and in this size that could be difficult to tell them apart only to look at a photo. They grow fast if you feed him properly and when it reach around 5-6" I'm sure a new pic on him will be much easier to tell exactly which species he is.

The number of dorsal fin rays also matches H. plecostomus. I would assume it is H. plecostomus when planning for future tanks etc.
