Ian,
I have a group of C. napoensis that go through the motions of spawning almost every day but there are no eggs. There are 5 males and 2 gravid females. I have tried all the usual (temperature drop, live worms) to no avail, any suggestions?

Hi!

I have bred that species, I succeed with them by changing the water hardness, try to switch from tap water to a composure of Tap and R/o water along with drops of T°
Cheers

Mark,

I would miss two water changes then give them a big one of about 70% and send the temp dow by 8-10º F.

I've also tried breeding these guys but they just won't spawn (I successed once for some month ago but the eggs was not fertile), this is what I've tried:

¤ Making coolwaterchanges everyday for some week
- Failed

¤ Having a temperature on 30-31C on the day and in the evening i making a 80% waterchange that drops the temperature down to 18-20C.
- Failed

¤ Lowering the pH to 6,2-6,6
- Failed

Females are still full of eggs... almost exploding.

You said you spawned them by changing the water hardness.

Do you mean you mixed up tap water and R/O water? What do you mean whit a "drops of T°"?
