hi folks
ive kept some bronze corys for about a year and a half now and they are still only about 4-5cm.ive read that their mature size is 7.5cm. can anyone tell me if they need more time to reach sexual maturity and adult size or are they sexually mature now?? i have been giving them a protein rich diet eg.tubifex, brine shrimp, bloodworms etc

Corys don't have to reach their full size to be mature, they are usually mature when you can sex them, to a degree the size is immaterial.

Hi Alvin,
Thanks for adding your location to your profile! That is a big issue at this site :) I totally agree with Coryman (as usual). Size is not a big deal when it comes to maturity. Tank size/water changes/feeding/ and number of fish...all play a role in the size of a fish. If they are 1-1/2 years old...they are mature. They are relatively easy to spawn. Condition them...and give them a cold water, water change...and you will have eggs! Best of luck!

I dunno... My sister's bronze corys spawn once about every 1-2 weeks, and the other fish completely leave the eggs alone. I guess they are just sick of them or something. The weird thing is, we have found and are raising only one baby cory. :!:
