Well, stopped at the LFS today and returned with two Asian Bumblebees and two Botia Kubotai(Angelcus Botia).

I'm wondering how predatory Pseudomystus Siamensis are, and what size fish they can tackle at adult sizes.

I was hoping to keep them with the Botias, an Ompok, a school of Cyprinids, and a few loaches in a 50G stream tank, but obviously will have to rethink if they are going to eat the others....

Anything above 3" should be safe.

Just make sure there are some separate hide-outs.
pseudomystus can be fiercely territorial to each other especially when kept as a duo.

They definitely like a hole with no conspicifics in there.

Oh, Forgot something!

I have a major hatred for unatural tank decor, what would be a good biotopic like hiding spot for the pseudomystus?
Rocks? Wood? Plants?

One of them has remained hidden in the coconut caves while the other just swims around and around the tank and playing in the current from the filter.
Is this normal or should I be worried?

Wood, I guess. They are large-river fish, so I imagine there would be lots of driftwood snags in their natural habitat.

You might want to have 3 loaches of the same type in the same tank as a bare minimum. Loaches are very social fish. Typically when one is by itself, or does not get along with a same species loach in the same tank, it will die.

I have read that a single loach will sit by itself on the bottom and die from refusing to eat. since these fish are not known to readily multiply in captivity, that is a big waste of fish.


I am assuming that your loach is also known as a Burmese loach. It is long and skinny (like a Yo Yo loach), brown with off white ovals on it's side.

These loaches are really great when you sprinkle dehydrated blood worms into the tank. They will click as they eat over which "food" is theirs. It's a really neat thing to see and hear - almost like popcorn popping!

Hello Everyone...I am a rookie at tanks and fish....I currently have a 15 Gallon Community Tank with 3 Gouramis, 6 Tetras and a Pleco and a African Dwarf Frog...Long story short my girlfriend made a tank and bought a bumble-bee catfish and three days later one of her small tetras was missing, a week later 4..Needless to say I am setting up a20Gallon tank and adopting the fish eating monster catfish from her...What do I need to know about it, what can I mix it with? I really want a turtle, perhaps a red eared slider, will they mix and can I feed this catfish smaller fish constantly?? Whatever info you have would be much appreciated....
