Are all cory eggs same size? Can two species cross? as example: I found some cory eggs in my main cory tank. (300 liters fully planted.) The're together with 9 Haraldshultzi's and 7 metae's + 1 (very old) unspecified.
Are haraldshultz eggs bigger as metae's eggs? I see females chased by both shultzi's as metae.
Could this be possible?
I tend to breed both species (give it a try) in a 140 liters (splitted in 2) with soft water, slightly lowered ph .temp: 22°c A bare bottom tank with strong current . A little java fern. and java moss. any suggestions or comments?

Don't know that much about cory egg size, I am GUESSING you would have a hard time differentiing haraldschultzi eggs and metae eggs on the size with a bare eye view. Guess if there is difference in size, you would have to meassure it with very accorate equiptment as a microscope with fittet measurer. In my expirience cory eggs from these species that are not of the "pygmaeus group" (I mean hastatus, habrosus, pygmaeus....) are quite similar in size to the naked eye.

I would make the GUESS that you have metae eggs, as metae to my knowledge should be a lot easier to spawn. Offcourse that is only a guess based on likelyness, so it could also be haraldschultzi.

I think it is very unlikely for metae and haraldschultzi to cross-breed, but again, I am guessing. I just don't find then similar enough for it to be likely

My only solution is to take good care of the eggs and hatch them and let them grow to a good size where you can make a differentiation. Another thing is that you should watch your cories closely the next week or more, as they are likely to spawn again.

A friend of mine has corydoras panda.. They breed all the time. But there eggs are defenetly smaller as mine.
That would be normal to me, cause panda cor'y are smaller as my metae's . But my shultz'is are even bigger.

I also think it's the metae's whom have spawned, the shultzi's that would be too nice.!

The chances are that it's the C. metae that have spawned, they are easier to breed than C. haraldschultzi. C. metae eggs are quite large measuring about 2 mm diameter. you have not said what size the eggs are?

There indeed about 2mm. Would they do it again if i place them in the breeding tank?

I have not bred C. haraldschultzi and it does not follow that because they are large fish that they lay large eggs, some large species like C. zygatus lay small 1.2 mm diameter eggs.
