Blue Panaque?

Post by Madame X »

I seem to remember a while back that the blue panaque was a highly sought-after pleco. Someone had asked me to post where I had seen one when I was actually speaking of the blue phantom. Well, this time I've spotted the panaque.

I was in a store in Tempe, AZ over the weekend and they have least two of them. The store is called Pets, Inc. and they were $79.95 each.

If I'm mistaken about the blue panaque being fairly rare, please disregard my post.

Hi,

got a pair a few weeks ago and askes for further information here http://www.forum.planetcatfish.com/viewtopic.php?t=5431 and at l-welse.com. Silurus gave a link to some information here in this forum.

Obviously, theres only little information or the keepers of this fish don't come out !

It seems to be a little shy, and like's Echinodorus. I will give a more information when there is a little more experience in a few weeks.

During my searchm I found some pictures:

Very fresh in a tank, they show a more dark-greyish black, later they get some mor to dark-bluel- black with light-blue rims at the tale and dorsal fin. When feeling fine, the first "spine" (whatever the german word "Strahl" is in english) of the dorasl fin is in bright dark red. Very interesting coloration.
In the moment they look like link 4.
