New Catfish Can anybody help ID... Please!

Post by bulldog188 »

We got a new fish. Not sure what she is yet. Think its a member of the Synodontis family. Skin looks like black velvet, with the odd silver scale. She`s 9 inch long and swims upside down. Loves prawns. She came from a pair, which were seperated when she repeatedly tried to kill the male, which is considerably larger than her.

here are a few pics:

Any help you could offer would be very much appreciated.

Thanks

Not safe with small fish, because unlike Synodontis, it's highly predatory; and not surprising that it tried to kill its companion.

Common name is Asian upside-down catfish or Black upside-down catfish.
