A picture would be a big help. The two L numbers are quite different. The one is an ancistrus the other is a chaestostma, wich has quite a different mouth among other things. Good luck.

Janne,

I would have to disagree. I've kept and spawned L150 in the past and the individuals showed a lot more of a brown coloration than the A. punctatus pictured. However, the adult size was similar, so L150 may be a natural color variant.

I have also spawn them a couple of times for a few years ago and my males was very black with golden dots all over the body and the females was much more brownish, maybe there are different population of this species and we had a thread for some month ago there shane asked about a similar species (I did not find the old thread) and to be honest...I'm not 100% certain that I had L-150 or A.punctatus but I cant tell them apart.

Likewise, I have to say that there is a possibility of mis-identification on my end. However, the fish I had were shipped in under the moniker L150 and matched Aqualog. I'm not sure if the Aqualog respresentation on that species is accurate.
