Since a few days ive spotted something like a little tumor on my gibby's mouth. i cant really tell if its growing but it is yellow. i have seen pics of something like that before but cant find anything now. have u ever seen anything like this? it looks like a hard patch and its the only thing on the fish. the fish is healthy and doesnt seem to be bothered by it.
somebody ever seen something?

I'm afraid a better diagnosis is only available with a picture.

Lymphocystis is a viral infection for which there is no effective cure. To be sure that it's lymphocystis, you should monitor the development of the growth. It usually ends up looking like a cauliflower.
It's also contagious, so I would quarantine the fish.

Post a picture and we might be able to confirm (if you don't have a better DC, invest in one). Or wait for it to develop further as mentioned above. Other than that, you can never be sure.
and how does it get into the tank??
It's usually caused by introducing infected fish into the tank. That said, spontaneous outbreaks sometimes occur.

A friend of mine hade the same problem, he did surgery on the gibbiceps, and it worked fin. He held the fish with a towel and used a sharp kitchen knife to remove the biggest "things". The gibby has got it again though.. he has a small piece that wasnt removed and it is slowly growing. Once it gets to big, he will probobly undergo surgery again.
