melini or acrensis

i have just bought five corys which were sold to me as acrensis but i have looked on the cat -elog and am sure they are melini one of them has a white patch on his nose and isnt as active as the others any ideas as to what it might be the other four seem to be at the surface allot is this a trait of the species or are they acting strangly any ideas would be well recieved ty

There is no similarity in the two species, the colour patterns are totally different.
C. acrensis
C. melini
All Corys can damage their snouts, if startled the dash about and bump into things, most of the time no harm is done but it needs to be kept an eye on because it can get infected.

im new to the hobby so when a lfs tells me what a fish is i take it they have some idea but i have been sold different fish on two occasions now .i hope it is only a bump on his nose which will get better i will keep an eye on him.ty for the advice.

is kidderminster far from grimsby and are there any books which i can buy in the uk about corys and other cats which might be helpful to me in the future
