I have several brochis splenden and they do fine in ph 8. However, I am able to use canal water here in FL so I don't use any chemicals. It will depend on the type of cory.

Better idea, you ask the question about the certain type instead of expecting people to shoot in the dark about 100 different types of fish. C'mon, help them out!

IMO the majority of corys CAN'T survice in pH 8 without suffering from stress.

i have 2 panda cories, 1 black line, 1 leopard and 1 more something like leopard forget the name.

You have narrowed the selection down form a possible 280 species to a mere 150.
I you can post pictures of your fish it would be far easier to give you a more accurate answer. The C. panda may tolerate pH 8 but won't like it.
