Error message when starting new spawning report.

Hi Jools,

From the My Cats menu, if I choose one of the fish I keep and I click on "Add Spawning Report," I get an error message. In this case, i tried the link with my . To be clear, I didn't spawn them, so I'm not completing the form, but I was checking on BLOG fields to see what is shown when a new BLOG report is started. That's how I fell upon this error message. More broadly, I ran the same test on a couple of other species I keep and I received the same error message.

Thankfully it's some warning messages that, with environment updates, are fussier than before. Fixed now. Nothing would have not worked, but good to clean up.

Jools

New issue with editing BLOG reports

Hi Jools,

I just tried to edit my BLOG report for . I was trying to do two things: 1) add a new spawn date (2025-02-08) and 2) upload a photo of freshly hatched fry.

First I tried to do both steps together. When I pressed the "Save & Publish" button, the link simply cycled me back to the edit page. It did not accept my changes and it did not save the changes (to be clear, the text entry for the new spawn date did not get cleared, but it also didn't get saved) or upload the photo.

Then I thought I might try each change separately: first the date and save, then the photo and save. I got the same outcome each time - nothing was saved.

I tried these both on my PC and on my phone. Same result in each case.

Sorry for more bugs.
Eric

Darn.

The fix for one is the break for the other. I am looking into both now.

Jools

It's because the fry sizes are bigger than 10mm. I've increased this to 20mm. There was an unrelated bug, but the fix was uploaded at the same time as the "new report" fix. It fixed where fry sizes were not being checked to be within a valid range. I think.

Can you give it another go?

Cheers,

Jools

I'm in the middle of editing the R. lanceolata BLOG. In the meantime, I can report a new error when simply viewing that BLOG:

Turns out the edit did not work, neither for the photo upload nor for the added spawning date. When I added the new date and uploaded the photo, it appeared to be successful. By that I mean two things happened:
  1. First, after submitting the data, the new date was displayed on the confirmation screen (1st photo below) and a broken field was shown as if to suggest an image was registered for that field (2nd photo below)... but was it uploaded successfully?
  2. Second, it showed an increase in the BLOG points for this from 81 to 86 (1st photo below). If there were 3 points for the new image, how did I get a 5 point increase with only 1 new spawn added? Did it give me two points for the one new spawn?
However, If I go back to the CLOG page and refresh the screen and look at all the BLOG reports, in spite of the fact I see the increased points (3rd photo below), if I then view the BLOG report the new date is not present, the "X# total spawns" does not reflect the added new spawn (4th photo below), and the new photo is nowhere to be seen (5th photo below). Even more oddly, one other photo that is on file, my photo of the fresh eggs, does not appear when I view the CLOG page, even though I can see it's there when I edit the BLOG.

Weird.

Cheers, Eric
