I'll cut right to the case!
I am currently attempting to build a "true" L 128 biotope. I've set up a 150 gallon tank with a flat foot print, a lot of rocks and roots and a very high turnover rate. I utilize a mix of sand and fine gravel as a substrate, temperature is set at 27°C (around 30°C during summer).
So far, my community consists of a small group of L 128 and 10 semi-adult Geophagus taenoipaireus.
I am toying with the idea to introduce a third, small to medium sized, compatible (and at least somewhat available) species from the same habitat - but information is very scarce. So far, my research came down to two anostomids, Anostomus ternetzi and Synaptolaeptomus latofasciatus.
If anyone of you has some more insight/information on other sympatric species - other than plecos/corydoras - I'd really welcome your answer!
