My albino cories are the craziest fish on earth. I have no idea how to read their body language. They have all gone mid water! with occational resting on the bottom (but not for long). They seem to be copying the guppies swimming motions, zig zagging up and down at their reflections on the glass. I was worried they had some ich, but they aren't actually touching the glass most of the time, so they aren't rubbing themselves. They have been doing this all day! Some times they all swim together at mid level. Once I even caught one chasing the female guppie.

Of course last week, the one corie decided to hide all day. Do you guys find that your cories have no regualar attitude? Or are my cories just plain weird? They keep me on the edge because I watch for signs of illness or unhappiness by trying to read their body language or sudden changes of body language. These little guys are driving me nuts by not sticking to a 'tude that can say they are comfy.

As far as I can tell, cories are just plain weird. They may act like normal fish at some times, but overall they have weirdness going on. Mine have distinct little attitudes that if they are not acting like normal fish they are:

*C. Schwartziis: Completely stoic fish. I think they do not think they are fish, but little old men.
*C. Aenuses: Usually act like normal fish, but will start zigzagging across the glass at any moment. They can do this forever. Often, other fish will usually follow suit.
*C. Paleatus: He is normal. I don't know why he doesn't act like the other fish, but he acts more like a fish than any other cory I own.
*C. Albino Aenus: Can a fish be prissy? If so, Sam 2 is one prissy fish. She goes through the gravel very daintily.
*C. Leucomelas: One weird fish! She always has this look on her face and body posture that makes her look like I caught her in the middle of doing something naughty. She seriously has a guilty face.
*C. Ornatuses: They mostly act like normal fish, but every once in awhile they get a weird streak.

I think all the different little attitudes make up very interesting fish to watch.

Well, well, The guppies are begging me to put these whiskered things in the looney bin. I have to laugh, A Cory decided to kiss some guppie nose in the middle of the tank ... sadly the poor male guppy was swimming clamly near a plant when this whiskered guy (who normally stays invisable on the gravel) comes up and gives him a light harmless kiss. The guppy shot into the plant and got a little tangled. LOL These cories are really pushing their luck.

The whole tank looks like it has more fish ... I mean cories swimming amoung guppies ... it's a weird sight. I'd love to get a pic but the digi cam battarys are dead. Well, thanks to telling me all ... I guess I can try to ignore the insanity and hope they change back into bottom fish ... I mean they just don't look right for guppies.

Maybe since your cories are relatively new they are just really, really excited to see guppies! That is too cute that one tried to kiss a guppy! They sound just like puppies. *L* Always getting into everything. But you gotta love 'em for that, right? *L*
