Did you breed them? There are only 2 breeding reports of this species.
But looking at the pictures you have c.delphac wich explains that you bred them. C.delphax is often sold as brevirotris but the diffrence is easy to see. Maybe im wrong. Do you have a clear picture of the fish? Hered my brevirotris. Brevirotris are 99.99% of the time wild specimens. Since they are impossible to breed wich would make the price 200 for one fish

@Manoah,
I haven't spawned them yet. This has just been my log for what I am trying. I had a long conversation with the LFS owner yesterday about TDS and he claims I won't get them to spawn unless my TDS is correct.

Re: C brevirostris
Brevirostris is supposedly not very difficult to spawn (like many of the Lineage 9 cories); warm, soft water and lots of live/frozen foods, along with a large water change during severe rain or thunderstorms (particularly in the summer, apparently) is enough to trigger them according to a guy I talked to at a fish expo last year.Manoah wrote: ↑12 Mar 2024, 22:02fishguy1978 wrote: ↑05 Mar 2024, 22:01 C brevirostris 7 total. 3F 4M, I think. 2F for sure.

I'd suspect the reason why dedicated captive-breeding efforts aren't seen is because they're not particularly unique in appearance, and don't seem to be particularly difficult to import; seems as though my LFS has a fairly hard time moving them, as they're too inexpensive to really warrant interest from breeders, and yet slightly too expensive for the majority of casual keepers to want to pick up a decent-sized group.
Problem with going by breeding reports (or even just records in general) of fish on the internet is because it often only represents a limited perspective- for instance, I know of many successful spawnings of a good number of knifefish species, but no breeding reports exist online (other than a few scientific papers); Panaque species have been spawned in private aquaria, but it's hardly ever mentioned online; many people possess species that aren't posted about often online (and thus seem to be much rarer than they are); and vice versa.

Aah thanks. I live in the netherlands and we have some pretty good storms with low airpresure. So who knows. I got a group of 9.

I spent a good bit of time last evening switching back and forth between the two species profiles looking at/for the differences. The eye stripe being the most noticable.

Yes brevirotris has a darker eye band. Deeper black on the shoulder. A shorter nose, more perfect, smaller spots. All this shows you have delphax, except the one i markt. The one i circled is c.brevirotris.
Hope you get it,
Cheers,

Are C delphax the same as CW027?
[/quote]
No diffrent species and the diffrence is easy to see. Heres a picture of cw027 and you can compare them to yours, very diffreny also much more rare and expensive. Cw027 is very simalar to brevirotris it just has a longer dorsal fin. Cw027 could be a locstion varient of brevirotris, since no research has been done on them. Therefore it has a cw number not a name

No, I have already used up my fish budget for the month and they aren't in the best shape. They are large and only $25ea which I think is a good price.
