We have got a large spot gold nugget L 177 he is doing very well and has grown to 3 inches .
I think that he could do with a bigger tank as I am struggling to keep nitrates down below 20 ppm.
I am doing a water change every 3 to 4 days, if I leave it the nitrates rise to 40 ppm.
He lives with a clown plec Pecoltia vivttata and some corys and tetras.
I feed a hikari algae wafer ( or corgette / mussel / prawn) every day.
The tank is filetered with a meduim eheim external to give a good water current.
The tank is 2 foot long by 12 inches wide, am considering a 3 foot by 15 inches or 3 foot by 12 inches. I realise that a bigger tank would be even better but we dont have the space, have got 2 other tanks.
I know from the catalog that L 177 can grow to 12 inches in the wild but how big have they grown to in a tank ?
