L-204 sexing

Post by Griparn »

I bought two L-204 recently. What’s your idea regarding male/female?

They are ~ 8-11cm TL

Top photo might be female, but I think both are male, although I would have expected to see longer pectoral odontodes.

Thanks AmazonTank! How many do you have? What you feed them?

What you think of these specimens, sexwise?

Hi I agree with Eric! The males really flare up there odontodes in my observation.
I feed zuchini, sweet potato, northfin wafers, repashy soilent, bug bites & sometimes shrimp.
I had them 4 years and it seemed for sure many times but never any eggs. My l397 & l306 breed every fee weeks for years.
No luck breeding chubbies, l204, chaca cats & gulpers. Did breed black ghost knifes but babies were hard to raise.

I will be looking forward to it good luck. I heard cool water with higher ph helps breeding haha but that's coming from someone that has failed and now they become pets taking up alot of tank space! I plan on introducing wild females in the mix in the next few weeks and get the breeding done 😁
