I have 5 young (around 3”) LDA045s coming and reworking my 75 gallon as a Tocantins biotope setup for them. I have tried to research the specific needs of this species, however, I have not come up with much information about them from the internet and have not had any luck finding other folks who are keeping them on in any of the groups I am active in. It does have 7 registered keepers here on planet catfish though so I figured I would post and see if anyone would like to tell me about their experience with them.
Input from people keeping regular chubby plecos, especially folks keeping them in Tocantins biotope setups or anyone who has been breeding them, would also likely be pretty helpful. All insights, observations, and advice is welcome and would be very appreciated. Thanks!

These fish are gorgeous!!
I took the first bag from the box and must have just stared at is repeating “wow” for a solid 2 minutes lol.
They are all male but I had him put a request out for females and contacted the other 2 places that currently have them to see about getting 6 females. These amazing specimens absolutely deserve to be breeding stock for what would possibly be the first F1s of this species available.
Pictures to follow.

Ordered 3 more, they arrived today. One very interesting thing about these guys is they appear to be able to change colors at will and pretty much instantly. They were all the same color when I took them out of the box, now one is almost white and one is fully black. The third is still that yellow color.

Oh wow that's absolutely amazing! Seems this might need to be documented!
I had my huge chubby go from yellow to pitch black but took a few days.
