Hi there. New here. Got referred to this site with this question. Can anyone please help me in IDing this catfish? All I know is that it's genus name begins with "Pseudo" as for the rest, I do not know. Thanks for the help. http://groups.msn.com/AdvancedBettas/pn ... ishes.msnw

The picture isn't really clear enough, but to me it looks like an attenuated image of Leiarus longibarbis. That's just my first impression, with a different view it might look completely different.

Definitely L. longibarbis.

Thanks Silurus. Can you please provide a link to a pic in the cat-elog? Tried to look for it, but can't find it. The only Leiarus I found was marmoratus. And the only longibarbis I found was not it. Thanks.

Leiarius longibarbis is the currently accepted name for what used to be called L. marmoratus. They refer to the same thing.

I have just picked this up, was it in taxonomy news or something? I notice CLOFFSCA still lists in under L. marmoratus?

I think it was in Taxo News. Pretty sure HH announced it following his last trip to Manaus.

Yeah, Mike Littmann (A former student of John Lundberg's) presented this at the ASIH meeting in Manaus.
