Hi all!

I´m searching for a catfish to match my 180 liters aquarium in which there already lives a Cherax Destructor (crayfish), and an Oscar Cichlid. Then my thoughts wandered towards a Pimelodus Pictus. Fast, beautiful. . but still it´s hard to find out whether it´s suitable or not. . I´ve looked almost everywhere, reading anything I could find about them. I don´t know if 180 liters would would be enough for a catfish of that caliber.

My crayfish is about 15 cm long. . It has lived with a Pterophyllum Scalare and an ordinary gippiceps with no problems, before I bought my Oscar for about 2 months ago. He´s about 13 cm now - still a baby.

Do you have any suggestions? I don´t want to waste a catfish´s life just because I can´t give it proper conditions. .

The tank is large enough, but unfortunately, the tankmates are too large. You might want to pick a larger pim like P. ornatus.

Pimelodid and your cryfish live in the bottom, probably your cryfish will attack your pimelodid except your pimelodid is bigger than your cryfish

P. Ornatus does look very beautiful. But. . well, the Cate-log says almost excately the same about P. Ornatus as it says about P. Pictus. . What´s the difference? I mean, so that it would be a better tankmate for the crayfish? Is it more active?

Still, I won´t be buying new fish for the next couple of months. . there is far to many sick fish in the stores in the wintertime.

What´s the difference?
It grows about twice as big (28 cm vs. 12 cm).

Oh. . wauv. I didn´t see that. Hmm. . wonder if you´re able to buy them in Denmark. Is it a common fish?
