Hi camdee,

Hypancistrus debilittera likes a decent amount of protein in its diet. Bottom scratcher will probably be eaten well. My main for debilittera includes live black worms and human-food-quality boiled shrimp.

Cheers, Eric

Eric, I tried shrimp before and it looked like it was not touched much. Do you cut it in pieces or offer as one?

I've done both and it's always been eaten, but I discovered that less goes to waste if I chop it into very small pieces.

Cheers, Eric

When fish are presented with a new food, they may not take it at first. However, most fish will give it a try if you feed nothing else for a while. Hunger is a great motivator. One the other hand, some fish will try to eat anything they find whether or not it is actually food. The take it in, discover its not food and spit it out. Often another fish then tries it with the same result.
