Hi all,
On advice, I've purchased this wormer (10% fenbendazole). Does anyone know what dose to use?

Thanks, Eric

Hi Eric, I'm not going to be much help I'm afraid, but just one comment, I believe Fenbendazole needs to be dosed based on the weight of the animal, as this is for goats I'm guessing the amount per fish may be tiny and hard to measure. Maybe you could start working out a dose from the goat dose? E.g. If it says 1ml per kilo of goat, work out the dose per gram of goat then guess your fishes weight. This assumes that goat and fish absorb and process it in the same way!

It also needs to be fed to the fish in Repashy or similar, but I'm sure you know that.

Can I ask what fish/issue you are planning to use it for?

Hi all,
I've used it to kill Hydra (as "Panacur" granules), it didn't effect any of the other tank inhabitants. Panacur is 22% Fenbendazole, and the dosing instructions (from PlanetInvert (http://www.planetinverts.com/killing_pl ... hydra.html)) were 0.1g in 10 US gallons.

cheers Darrel

Eric- why get goat meds when you can get fenbendazole for fish with directions for its use?

Dr. Charles Harrison sells it:
Fenbendazole. I do have Fenbendazole 10%. It works for a number of things but it is not absorbed through their skin or gills. It must be eaten to be effective. Pricing is the same as Flubendazole below.

I also found it here with instructions for dosing:

Hi TTA,

I got it because I'm an idiot. I went shopping for flubendazole but I was in a rush and misread the label... I thought I was buying flubendazole but got fenbendazole instead. #-O :ymblushing:

I guess I need to try and return the product. :YMSIGH:

Cheers, Eric

From Dr. David Fishman of FishmanChemical:

Dosing information for fenbendazole I buy from them (dry powder, 1 kilo): 7 to 10 days dose one time per day, 30 grams per 1000 gallons with a 20% water change.

these are the people i have used in the past, if you can buy in bulk it will be much cheaper per gram that way. i usually get someone or two or three to go in with me on the purchase and break it up that way.
amazon sells this in smaller amounts and they used to sell something call Peabody's Medicated Flakes that had fenben in them. they also sell Thomas Labs fenbendazole in various quantities. i always buy some extra because it is only when i have none in the house that i need it and then end up paying $$ for overnight shipping. I think that this is the Murphys law for fish meds, namely, it is when you don't have it that you will need it. and then when you don't and then you drive 45 miles to the only store that you know usually has it you will find that the last one (the only one you need and in the perfect quantity) has been sold so you go home and pay 65 dollars shipping for 45 worth of meds that you should have done in the first place (and saved 20.00 worth of gas in the process). me becoming bitter? heavens no :)
i wish you were closer, i would give you some but that ain't the case and if i thought it would not be a problem i would mail you some for free, i have about 150 grams of it sitting here but u are there and i am here...

I used it a couple of years ago when I had a situation with callamanus worms.
Ordered from Charles Harrison, I believe he included dosing instructions. Worked like a charm.

Works well for planaria, I believe.
