Im quite new to the forums and just bought a 2.5inch Iriri nugget. Ive used the search on the forums and found tons of info on veggie foods. Last night i dropped a thin slice of cucumber the tank. neither my 2 bushy nose nor the Iriri touched it. at least it didnt seem like it.

Now im wondering, what should i feed my Iriri. im not worried about my bushy nose because they are quite active when flakes and frozen foods drop to the floor and they eat as much as i give them. But the Irir seems to be constantly on the glass. I would like to feed it frozen brine shrimp and frozen bloodworms. any opinions or suggestions? thanks

here's a pic of her. When i look closely, she seems to have a tiny bit of fuss on her skin. Any potential problem in that?

Hello,

All of the wild gold nugget types seem to be skittish about feeding. The live foods you mention should work, but you will have to feed after the lights are turned off. When in the dark, they will come out to feed. I don't think I ever saw any of mine, except a group of tank rasied L81, actively feed while the lights were on. Only in total darkness will they bother with food. I even tried red lighting to get the chance. They are also not aggressive feeders. Even when nearly starved, they will not "attack" food.

Your other post in this forum backs up (IMO) the theory of white spot disease.

Treat with suitable medication ASAP and raise temp of tank to 28C.

Hello,

I also forgot to mention that an increase in temperature will get the to eat more heavily. I always kept mine at 30' C.
