what kind of pleco is this

what kind of pleco is this
I got these from a breeder and he said it's a hypancistrus, but T can't ID what type?

Yes those look like Hypancistrus, but from these pictures it's really difficult to tell what they are. Can you get some side view pictures?
Also, if they are young (1-2"), and if they are in the black & white wormline group (L066, L400, etc.), it may be very difficult to be confident of an ID at that small size because their patterns look similar as juvies and develop with age.

There is no way these fish are 3-4", look at the size of your fingers. Unless you are a giant, your measurements are WAAAY off. Not to mention one has yellow hues, i would think you might have 2 species.

I do not think you are BSing.... what worrys me most is that your telling the truth.
A fish that size is not typical for a release that is more typical for natural reproduction.
This is worrysome and not a species that should be naturally spawning in NC if this is what it is.
