Chameleon whiptail catfish.

Are they very popular?
Are they very common?
Are they hard to get? Easy to get?
Know of anyone with any TO get?
What prices do they generally run (say, at 2-3 inches long)?

Someone pointed these out to me, and they look kinda cool. Not sure if I have room for them, as I'm focusing on breeding several types of plecos right now. But I'm always interested in seeing if I can breed new species, and taking up the challenges. But I'm actually MORE motivated by fish that aren't bred in the hobby very much, and may be - or are - hard to get from the wild.

I don't see them for sale often, but they are desired.

In the USA, occasionally WetSpot gets them for ~$100 each. They are the only store I've found stocking them.

It should also be added that there are at least two breeders in the US maintaining actively breeding colonies. Both are generally sold out of them well before fry ever become available, and my understanding is that the price is approximately the same as from the shop mentioned above.

Okay, Wet Spot's inventory comes from Nautilus/5D Tropical, so I know where to look now. Thanks!

Okay, let me ask this...

Is anyone interested in any? For... we'll just say cheap. Nautilus is a low-quantity *wholesaler* in Florida. (I do have a business license, tax ID#, etc.) 5D Tropical is their sister company, but they only do high-volume. TYPICALLY what one has, the other will have as well. But that's not the case this time.

5D - the high volume seller - has them in stock, but you have to buy 20 of them (yeouch). I might be willing to split the order though, at-cost. (No, I'm not going to say what the cost is publicly. PM me for details.)
