Zebra Pleco Feeding
Zebra Pleco Feeding
I have recently (3 days) purchased 3 L046 Plecos.
Size range from 6.5cm to 7.5cm.
They look in good health with a strong black and white color and fat bellies.
The rank currently is a Rio125 with a Canister filter attached for extra flow.
I purchased the tank with the Plecos so nothing has changed environment wise.
The tank is well cycled.
No other fish in the tank.
Its a bare bottom tank with numerous caves and drift wood.
I am using Repashy Bottom Feeder and feeding them after lights out.
I place a clump by the cave structure they like to hang out in. However they dont come out.
However just looked into the tank before after lights out and they are scooting all over the place happy as can be.
Am i just being paranoid. Like the food literally sits in-front of them.
I haven't seen them eat yet.
I turn the filters off for 30mins so it doesn't get blown away but they are turning their noses up at it.
temp is siting at 29degrees.

Re: Zebra Pleco Feeding
I feed mine frozen bloodworms, live blackworms, and the occasional algae discs. They really like the bloodworms and blackworms and will nibble on the disks at night.
I had tried Repashy Spawn N grow and Omnivore but they didn't really take to it. I think the presentation of the food is not appealing to them.

I feed them NLS Growth and Thera A formula, and other quality pallet food (earth worm, brine shrimp). I seldom feed them frozen food.

Re: Zebra Pleco Feeding
I have two groups of 10 adults and feed them exclusively with Repashy Bottom Scratcher, and Repashy Soilent Green.
Never seen them eat, but they are spawning every few weeks, so it's all good.
