Is this l190 or l027?

Hello everyone.
I'm new to this website this would be my 1st post.
I was wondering if anyone can help me ID this pleco
At first I thought it was l190 but later on in came across a picture identical to my pleco and had it as l27. Any help would be appreciated. Thanks.

The solid black unpaired fins make me think it is .

Thanks for your help. Wow I'm surprised this is a xingu. I always wanted to get one not knowing I had one.. if this is a Xingu, can you help me ID this little guy I just got him about a week ago as a Xingu

The little one looks like Nigrolineatus to me (I'm no expert), but I'm sure Jools can tell what it is with a lot more certainty

The little one looks the same to me although I can't see it's true colour very well, there is enough black in the dorsal to make me think so.

I was told that the bigger pleco is a long nose royal?
Is that correct?

Hi,

both specimens are Panaque armbrusteri from Xingu. The caudal fin isnt always black in this local form. In juvenile stage the caudal fins are light, and show the typical "window", but when getting older the fin darkens and gets black - sometimes. Some adult specimens show perfect dark, horizontal stripes in the caudal fin and not pitch black all over.

Thanks for your information. So I have finally ID my pleco, it's a l027 . It wasn't l190 after all. I really appreciate everyone here who help me . You guys are awesome

The easiest way to tell P. armbrusteri and P. nigrolineatus apart, is to look at their teeth actually. P. nigrolineatus have less, but stronger ones, while P. armbrusteri has more and quite small in comparison. Morphology is always better than pattern and colour.
