Hello,
I cannot get an exact species ID from the pics, but it is not aRineloricaria. Looks like a Loricaria species.

Hello
I guess by the name that your fish are from Uruguay
I have a more or less closely related species from Argentina which I have been unable to identify. A close up picture or the mouth would help identify the genus (Loricaria or hemiloricaria my first guess) Do you also have a picture on a white sand background ??

looking more closely=> more likely to be Rineloricaria

I agree, the 'Centurion' trade name has been applied to a rather stunning Gymnogeophagus from Uruguay, so it makes sense that these fish may also be from there.

Hello,
Looking more closely, with the fins in view, as well as a nice shot of the males cheek bristles, I have to withdraw my last statement. It very well may be a Rineloricaria. The problem will be species verification since there are several color morphs of most of those species.

Hi again!
Hmm it seems that we are getting closer to establishing what it is
They(I have 4 of them) are about the same size, 10,5cm i mesured this morning(4 inches?) i allso tried to take a picture om the mouth but they have i tendensy to bury them self in the sand when i turn off the "moonlight" and turn on the light
I´ll try to take a new one when i come home from work!
Only one of them has a "beard" while the others are smooth, the color on them does´t variate between them att all as far as i can se...
Is the food to be given the same for all these Rineloricaria?(If that is the "family" it belongs to) I have given them alge waffers, shrimp mix to be on the safe side and they have a root i the aqvarium as well, I havet seen the payed any intreset in the root tho...
and again
thanku for helping me to identify this one!

Where did you get them from? If t was a retailer, do they import from S. America direct or do they go through a wholesaler?
If the former, have a look in some of the other aquaria there, they might have some more very interesting rarities from Argentina and Uruguay.

I think these are from a member in our catfish society here in sweden, collected under a trip to uruguay for some years ago.
If you pm me I can try to help you so you can ask him directly.

I have a Rhineloricaria which looks very similar to your fish. I have never seen mine bury himself, I don't know if that information will help but...good luck! Please post what you find out if you find out the full species.

If we're looking at Paraguayan Rineloricaria, then maybe R. pareiacantha, R. felipponei or R. thrissoceps? The first is pictured in Evers and Seidel's Wels atlas but the eye position doesn't look the same and the fish pictured there has a series of lateral black dots not present in this topic's pictures. It does however have a rather distinctive suckermouth.
The other two I have no details on...
