Does any one know where I can get a few l397 plecos in the United states.

Sometimes they are sold on aquabid. I think the photos are labeled with the name Leisure Man. He's in southern Washington state if I recall correctly.

L397 are really rare to find in the U.S. They are illegal to export from Brazil and there is no significant captive breeding of them in the U.S.

The ones you find are usually shipped over from Europe where captive breeding of them is more established.

I can't say I have ever seen real ones for sale although I do know at least one person who has them. Sometimes you see L271 sold as L397 so be careful. When young they are quite similar looking.
